More Snow!

With all this snow we've had this winter, Shane and Papa have kept busy plowing our driveway. Bryce loves watching them work outside. Tonight, Jenn and the kids joined us for a night of pizza and play since Joel is out west snowmobiling. All three kids (and Mamaw) had fun watching Papa.

Jake just wanted to look at the camera

When he would get out of sight, they would run and scream to the kitchen to watch him

What a cute little picture!

Our Pallet Wall

Shane has been working hard during the last few snow days to build a pallet wall in the hallway to our kitchen. I think it turned out great! Now we have a nice place for our visitors to hang up their things!

We've already put it to good use

Kindergarten Quotes

I have a group of 24 Kindergartners this year. My biggest class ever! Last year I had 14, so it's quite a big difference! They are a pretty good bunch overall, but there's always a few that challenge me and keep me on my toes. Of course, they make me smile everyday and as always are quite entertaining. Here are a few quotes from this year that I remembered to write down:
  • Every Monday for journals we write about what we did over the weekend. Student #9 tried to tell me that he went to Disney World. I was pretty sure that he did not and he finally said, "Well I went to Disney on Ice and that's pretty much the same thing."
  • While the girls were in the bathroom, I overheard several of them say, "This is my beat." And then they preceded to dance and sing.
  • During journals, the students were asked to finish the phrase: Do you see the _______? Most students wrote things like Do you see the cat? Do you see the car? Student #22 wrote "Do you see the bunny hopping by with an umbrella in his hand eating watermelon?"
  • Every year we have a visitor from the Safe House come to our classroom and talk about personal safety. She talks about good touches and bad touches and so on. She asked the kids, "Who does your body belong to?" They were suppose to respond with, "My body belongs to me." Student #11 shouts out, "Jesus!"
  • While walking down the hallway past the cafeteria, Student #9 randomly asks, "Are they making dog food?"
Stay tuned for the next installment.
