Easter Fun!

We had a great Easter this year. We started the weekend by having Nannie, mamaw, and papa over for a cookout on Saturday night and we colored eggs. This was the first time we tried it and it turned out pretty cute. We used shaving cream and food coloring and it sure was messy! Bryce kept his gloves on and followed directions while Blaine well didn't. I wish I would have gotten some pictures, but it was a little chaotic. On Sunday morning, I tried something different with the Easter baskets. I wrote clues that led them all around the house until they found their hidden baskets. When I was little, my Aunt Jan used to send us on treasure hunts like this all around my grandparents house, which is the house we now live in. I thought it would be fun to continue this tradition with my own kids. It was so cute to see them running around the house looking for hidden eggs.  Here are the clues:
It's time for an egg hunt so follow the clues. The first ones easy, it's in your shoe.
For the next clue you long to acquire, head to the basement and look in the dryer.
This one's easy just take a look, you'll find the next clue with your favorite books.
Easter fun is a crowd pleaser! What you're seeking will be in the freezer.
I know this is fun, and you think it's neat. Look in the place where you sit to eat.
Is that all the clues? Oh, no it's not. Try a place where it gets hot.
The hunt is almost over but before you relax, check the place where you find your snacks.
You don't have to search very long or far, the next one's where we park the car.
Diddley doo, diddley dee, the next clue is where you go to pee.
Your very last clue and try not to peep. Are you feeling tired? It's time to sleep.
Happy Easter Bryce! There's one more thing for you to do. Go downstairs and find all the eggs, the color blue!
Happy Easter Blaine! Have fun today with eggs and jellybeans, but first go downstairs and find all the eggs the color green!

We then headed to church for a yummy breakfast before the service. We headed to Billtown to go to Aunt Mel and Uncle Brad's for a yummy lunch and egg hunt. Nannie's house is just across the road, so we walked over there to see Grandma Jane, Grandpa Ed, Nannie, and Uncle Dan. From there we headed to Keith and Jean Ann's house for another egg hunt and dessert. What a fun and busy day!

He was so excited about his new Tractor Mac book and his cement mixer that goes with his vtech race tracks. He also picked out a barbie doll for Ali's basket and gave it to her to "play" with. Blaine was throwing a fit about wearing his church outfit so he was not a part of these pictures.

Now it was Bryce's turn to throw a fit about taking family pictures after church. Just look at that pitiful face.

She complained the whole walk to Nannie's house, we walked in and Shane gave her to Grandma Jane. She snuggled right in and fell asleep!
The only pictures from Keith and Jean Ann's house. Grandpa Carl and Grandma D with all 6 of their great grandkids!
