Young Authors' Night

We attended Young Authors' Night at ROWVA this past Wednesday. Both Blaine and Bryce were part of it this year and Blaine was so proud of his story and loved going up with his friends. Bryce received 3rd place this year for the First Grade class and wrote another farm story. Is anyone surprised? He was so proud of his medal and we are proud of both of our little writers. It was such a fun night. Sweet little Ali Kay loved watching everybody and clapped for every award winner!

Blaine's friend Quinn won first place for the preschool and she wanted a picture with Blaine afterwards. He didn't want to take a picture until daddy suggested he hold his own "award."

Fun in the photo booth!

Chicago Trip

Shane and I went on a quick trip to Chicago this past Thursday and Friday. We have been wanting to see Hamilton and Shane was able to find tickets for Friday night. Hamilton was an amazing show and I highly recommend it! The songs were incredible and I've been singing them ever since. We also caught an afternoon Cubs game where it was super windy and very cold! We ended up leaving our seats and finding a warmer spot in Gallagher Way. We still had a great time and of course found time to enjoy some yummy deep dish pizza. We love our weekends in Chicago but sure missed our kiddos. They got to spend one night at Nannie's and one night at Grandpa Bill and Grammie Gale's. It sounds like they had a good time too!

                                          We love this beautiful city!
We went out for drinks at a brewery and I chose a drink called "A little sumptin sumptin." Our view from the Cubs game. They were actually great seats just super windy!

3 tired kiddos on our way home!

Ali and Blaine

Daddy made Ali a big girl bed and she loves it! Except it's been up for over a month and she has yet to sleep in it. We still have her crib up, and when we ask her if she going to sleep in it her response is always, "Maybe tomorrow."

This girl brings so much personality to our family and her sentence structure and vocabulary amazes us everyday! She loves to say, "seatback" and then always wants daddy to steal her seat.

The many faces of Blaine Butler. Coming home from Nannie's a few weeks ago and he was totally passed out! This was when he was being a bull in the basement!
Ali was wanting daddy to take a picture of her too. Our little farm girl was driving her tractor in the living room and sporting a pony tail for the first time!

Easter

We enjoyed a great Easter this year that started again with a scavenger hunt around the house to find their Easter baskets. This year, Bryce was able to read every clue on his own and Blaine was really great at finishing the rhyme that led them to the next location. All the clues led them to their beds where their baskets were hiding!

So after church, we worked hard to get a few pictures of our kids and this is what happened! They are something!

Anyone else's Easter pictures start like this?

Mamaw and papa with their 5 grand kids!

So during church these 3 crazies kept trying to sit like this and I told them I would take their picture like this after church.

Then of course, the girls wanted in on the action!

                                  And it continues!
Our first Easter celebration was at Aunt Mel and Uncle Brad's house in Williamsfield. Each kid had a certain color of egg that they were suppose to find and they had to find 25 of that color. Ali was really getting into it this year!

Our next Easter celebration was at Uncle Keith and Aunt Jean Ann's house. It was so nice outside and the kids had so much on another egg hunt. There were no restrictions at this one, and together the five of us found 122 eggs! We have SO much candy!
