First Day of School 2019

The boys had their first day of school this past Wednesday. Blaine started Kindergarten and Bryce started Second Grade. Blaine was super excited and Bryce was just sort of "whatever." I actually get information from Blaine when he comes home from school, and it sounds like he's having a blast! Bryce tells me a few things, but you have to work pretty hard to get it from him! Here's to a great school year!

We had such a fun back to school night. Blaine was so pumped! He had so much fun unpacking all of his stuff and exploring his classroom.

Ali Kay had a great time too. She insisted on bringing her book bag as well. She was not about to be left out.

Bryce's 7th Birthday Party!

Bryce Samuel turned 7 on August 11th! What? I can't believe it. He wanted a sports party this year and wanted to have a big family baseball game in our front yard. It was a pretty hot day but everyone sure had a good time! Bryce has really come out of his shell this past year and I still can't believe he's in Second Grade. He still lives to farm and really didn't want to start school because he just wanted to stay home and help papa. He got to spend about five days with my Uncle Kevin in their huge hog confinement buildings processing baby pigs. He loved every second of it and didn't want it to end. He has the biggest heart and can be pretty emotional at times. He's an outstanding reader and amazes us every day with the words he knows how to read! He is the best big brother and really looks out for his siblings. Happy Birthday to our sweet little Brycer boy!

After his party we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for supper and the wait staff had him stand on his chair while the whole restaurant shouted "Happy Birthday!"

Cousin Fun and Making Applesauce

On one of our last days of summer, Jake and Jayla spent the day with us and the kids played so good together. They had a pretty fun time in our new slip and slide that we got for Christmas in July! We hooked it up to the farm water to get more pressure, so the water was freezing!

I made about 45 quarts of applesauce this summer from our apple tree. This little cutie spent an hour helping me cut up apples and it was just the sweetest thing!
