Updated Basement

I love our basement playroom. The kids have so much fun down there and I love working on little projects while the kids play to keep me busy and organized. It's kind of like my own little classroom down there. Here are a few of my projects and some updated pictures of the space.

Toy bins with labeled laminated signs. It makes for an easy clean up, and makes my organized heart happy!

This table used to be in mom and dad's living room back in the day. In college, I brought it down from the attic, painted it black, and ordered a glass to fit on top. It's been in storage since we moved here. I was going to paint the top with chalkboard paint but I decided to get out some of my random flashcards instead. Bryce loves to sit at the table and eat his snack or use dry erase markers on the glass to write on it and circle different pictures.

I love how it turned out. The cards are only taped on, so I can switch them out anytime.

My paint chip calendar turned out so cute! I used paint sample sheets from Menards that had 2 by 2 squares in each color. I just cut them out and taped them down. I already had the frame, so this little project costs me nothing to make.

I used permanent markers to write the days of the week and dry erase markers for the dates and activities.

I use it for daily learning activities for Bryce and the girls.

I jazzed up the otherwise boring clothespins that hold the artwork.

We have so much more space now that we moved the bed upstairs. Bryce loves sitting at the table and doing our art projects.

Some before and after pictures of the other room in the basement:

There used to be a wall here that we tore down

Our new furnace and central air unit

Our laundry room now. We also bricked in the windows on the north wall

The staircase from the breezeway to the basement before

Shane framed an old seed bag, cleaned up a clock he found he dad's shed, and put tin and old barn boards along the walls.

9 Months Old!

Blainer boy was 9 months old on Sunday. 9 months really? You mean in 3 months he will be one? Crazy! I think the time goes even faster with the second one. Well he is officially crawling and he is everywhere! He pushes himself up to the end tables and the first step of the stairs but doesn't get any further than that, not yet at least. He loves to eat and I am slowly starting him on table food. He has 2 bottom teeth and loves to say "momma." He has even said "dadda" a couple of times. He still sleeps 7 to 7 and has 2 naps a day. He is so laid back and just goes with the flow. He is always smiling and giggling! He is still in the running for the best baby ever!

Oh hey mom!

What is this? Okay, I'm just gonna go ahead and take it off!

Let me just read this

Impressive right?

Peek a boo!

Mmmm, tastes good!

Such a little sweetie!

Updated Blaine's Room

We finally got all the pictures hung up in Blaine's room. I just love the colors in this room! We also moved the changing table to the basement which gives the boys more room to play!

I made these pictures using the fabric from the ottoman. I think they really complete his room.

This bookcase used to be in dad's office. I cleaned it up and painted it gray to match his room.

This room has 3 closets so we put his crib in one and used one for decor and book storage. I love it!
