High School Football

We've had a great time attending so many football games this Fall. They made it all the way to round 3 of the playoffs and man was it exciting! Bryce got to help with the team again this year and he was in charge of the kicking tees. He only missed one game the whole season. Blaine would go back and forth between watching the game and playing football with his buddies, and Ali Kay had her girl gang. We all had a great time!

East Galesburg KOA

During Columbus Day weekend we decided to head to the KOA in East Galesburg. The last time we were there was 3 years ago. So much has changed during that time. They now have a super big jump pad that the kids had the best time on. They have brand new go carts that you can rent to ride around the park and a frisbee golf course that Bryce and Shane had fun with. They were all decorated for Halloween too which made it fun to walk around. Shane, Blaine, and Ali even got to play bingo one night with other campers. We enjoyed some nice fall weather and we were very thankful to have a campfire to keep warm around.

Bryce Turns 11!

Bryce had his golden birthday this year when he turned 11 on August 11th! I can't believe the boy that made me a mom is that old! We spent his actual birthday at the State Fair doing what he loves, showing pigs! After the fair, we headed back to the Binkley house where we had Monicals Pizza and brownies for dessert. Barbara and Ryan couldn't find any matches so Ryan used a blow torch to light the candle on Bryce's brownie. It was hysterical and Bryce was cracking up! We celebrated with a big family party a few weeks before his birthday. He wanted a front yard baseball game just like last year and it was a Field of Dreams this year because of the corn. We had a great game and we made it all the way to 9 innings. It ended up in a tie much to the dismay of our competitive sons!

Summer of Fairs

We sure made our way through a variety of fairs this summer. This was the first year that Blaine was able to show. He had his heart set on showing a goat so with some help from Dane Libby and Madelyn Pruett we were able to make that happen. He did so great for his first time. Now he says that he wants to show both goats and pigs next year. We started the season at the ROWVA Show, then Henry Country, Knox County, Mercer County, 4-H Fair, Stark County, and finally the State Fair. Blaine showed goats only at the ROWVA Show and the 4-H fair. Bryce showed pigs at all of the shows. During the Knox County fair, the boys decided that they wanted to go the big concert in the grandstands instead of riding the rides and Ali decided that she wanted to do the rides instead of the concert. So we divided and conquered and everyone had a great time! During the weekend of the State Fair we stayed at the Binkleys in Springfield again and it was so much fun to spend time with them.

Bryce made this TV stand for his 4-H wood working project. He is putting it to good use.

Bryce won showmanship at Stark Country

While waiting for Bryce to show his pigs, Blaine and Ali had fun doing some kid activities around the fair.

We of course had to see the butter cow and they had this really cool selfie station set up in one of the buildings.
