Ali's Birthday and Grandma D's Birthday

Our sweet little Ali Kay turned 9 on January 20th. We had her big family birthday party on Sunday, January 18th at our house. She didn't want cake or cupcakes, she wanted pizza Pizza Hut and chocolate chip cookies, so that's what she got! The next day we didn't have school due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day so she got to sleep in, which is one of her favorite things to do. The week before that, we celebrated Grandma D's 95th birthday at her house with pizza from Genesios and brownies with ice cream. She had all 10 of her great grand kids there to help her celebrate. We played the card game "What Do You Meme?" and had a great time!

Trip to Milwaukee

We headed to Milwaukee as part of the kids Christmas present. Once we got to our hotel, we walked around Milwaukee looking for a place to eat but everything was closed since it was New Year's Day. It was also very very cold out, and we were very very hungry. We ended up walking a big circle around the hotel and ordered pizza to be delivered to our room. We woke up the next day, ate breakfast at the hotel, hung out in our room for a little bit and ate lunch at the Brat house. We then headed to Discovery World which was this super cool science and technology museum as well as an aquarium. We all had a great time, even Bryce! We then headed back to the hotel for a bit where the boys got ready for the game. We then walked to State Street Pizza Pub where a robot brought us our pizza. The boys walked to the Bucks vs. Hornets basketball game and the Bucks won! Ali and I stopped at Insomnia cookies on our way back to the hotel and had a movie night until the boys got back. The next day, we ate a yummy breakfast at a local diner and then headed home.

New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

We celebrated New Year's Eve at our house with Mamaw and Papa and the Johnson family. We played games, watched TV, ate some yummy food, and did a countdown complete with poppers at 10:00. When everyone else went home, we let the kids stay up until midnight for the first time where we had another countdown. It was a little rough because Ali threw a fit (and no one can remember why) and couldn't quite handle staying up that late. All in all, it was a great time! The next day, we went to Grandpa Bill and Grammie Gale's house for our last Christmas celebration. Thank goodness that Grammie took lots of pictures that I was able to steal!

Christmas Traditions and Celebrations

We sure cram a lot into the holiday season. Our first tradition is always going to Swedona and cutting down our own Christmas tree. We then have our first celebration on Christmas Eve Eve with Mamaw and Papa and then Christmas Eve with Nannie for lunch and then Grandpa Bill and Grammie Gale's for supper and then Candlelight service at church that night. On Christmas Day we stay at home until we go to Grandma D's for dinner and more presents!
