Our Annual Trip to Peoria

Last weekend we traveled to Peoria for our annual trip to Stoney Creek Inn for the boys basketball state tournament. We had so much fun with the Wenzel families, although we missed Ken and Barb this year. We survived 3 nights in a hotel with 2 boys. They were actually really good and loved our "vacation." We went down on Thursday night after the daycare kids got picked up and came home Sunday morning. Both boys took 3 hours naps on both Friday and Saturday and slept all night. This gave mommy a chance to watch some really good movies on Netflix! The boys got to play at the "experience" at the Civic Center, go on a river walk, play at 3 different playgrounds, and of course go swimming everyday. They loved eating breakfast at the hotel and hanging out in the suite with everyone! And if you remember my blog post last year about our trip, no one got sick on the way home this year! Yea for that!

Our "Vacation"

Last Thursday night we traveled to Bloomington to watch two of Shane's basketball girls compete at the state 3 point contest. They didn't place in the top 4 but what an honor to make it that far and they were both seniors as well. Bryce had another doctor's appointment in Peoria on Friday morning so we watched the girls shoot and stayed in a hotel for the night. Bryce loves to stay at a hotel, he calls it our vacation. Blaine spent the night at mamaw and papa's house since I didn't really want to take him with us to Bryce's appointment. Although we did miss our Blaine Butler, the three of us had a great time. Once we got to the hotel Bryce didn't want to leave, so daddy brought us pizza and we hung out at the hotel relaxing and watching Curious George (his new favorite show) on the laptop. When we woke up in the morning we had some breakfast. Well, two of us did, one was too excited to swim to worry about breakfast. The water was super cold but it didn't seem to phase him too much. He was a little fish!

Train Trip

This past Saturday we took a little train trip from Galesburg to Kewanee for breakfast at the Station House and then back to Galesburg. The kids had a great time! In fact, the adults had a great time too!
