Blaine and Mommy's Day of Adventure

On Blaine's actual birthday, I was stuck at school for our Spring concert and didn't hardly get to see the birthday boy. I had decided a few months ago to use one of my personal days to take off the day after his birthday and take Blaine to the Peoria Playhouse (his favorite place to go). So we both skipped school on that day and spent the day together. We dropped Bryce off at school, Ali off at Mamaw's, and headed to Peoria. We spent the morning at the museum, had a picnic at the park, and went back to the museum in the afternoon. We actually ran into a field trip group from Henry and it was so much fun to see some of my past coworkers. It was a really special day with my little boy.

Graduation Parties

We've attended a few graduation parties this past May and I only have a few pictures from Tucker's party (that I stole from Annette). The kids sure have fun playing and of course eating all the different foods and desserts!

Ali Kay's Big Girl Bed

About a month ago, Shane made this awesome bed for Ali to sleep in. She loved to play and read in it, but refused to sleep in it. That is, until this past weekend. She decided that she wanted her crib taken down and she has slept in her big bed ever since. She loves to climb on it and seriously how cute is she? This was on Friday after she had the flu on Thursday. I'm glad it was short lived! I just love her room and decided to share a few other pictures of it!

Young Authors' Night

We attended Young Authors' Night at ROWVA this past Wednesday. Both Blaine and Bryce were part of it this year and Blaine was so proud of his story and loved going up with his friends. Bryce received 3rd place this year for the First Grade class and wrote another farm story. Is anyone surprised? He was so proud of his medal and we are proud of both of our little writers. It was such a fun night. Sweet little Ali Kay loved watching everybody and clapped for every award winner!

 Blaine's friend Quinn won first place for the preschool and she wanted a picture with Blaine afterwards. He didn't want to take a picture until daddy suggested he hold his own "award."

Chicago Trip

Shane and I went on a quick trip to Chicago this past Thursday and Friday. We have been wanting to see Hamilton and Shane was able to find tickets for Friday night. Hamilton was an amazing show and I highly recommend it! The songs were incredible and I've been singing them ever since. We also caught an afternoon Cubs game where it was super windy and very cold! We ended up leaving our seats and finding a warmer spot in Gallagher Way. We still had a great time and of course found time to enjoy some yummy deep dish pizza. We love our weekends in Chicago but sure missed our kiddos. They got to spend one night at Nannie's and one night at Grandpa Bill and Grammie Gale's. It sounds like they had a good time too!
