We have traveled to several different fairs this year. We started the season at the ROWVA show, then we did the Knox County Fair, the 4-H Fair, and finally the State Fair. Here is a random collection of pictures from these shows. Bryce had a great first year in 4-H and he's already planning on what projects he wants to take next year.
On Wednesday, August 11 Bryce turned 9 years old! I cannot wrap my head around the fact that he is that old. He will be going into 4th grade next week! He is our old soul, the hardest working kid I know, he is still pretty quiet but is definitely starting to come out of his shell. He is an avid reader and such a great learner and student. He loves to be busy and has a hard time sitting and relaxing. He is a great help to both me and Shane and had such a great time during his first year in 4-H. For his birthday this year, he didn't really want a large family party all he wanted was to have Jake and Jayla come over for a nine inning baseball game in our front yard. It rained most of the morning but we were still able to have a game in the afternoon. We only made it to 6 innings though. He even made a backdrop for behind home plate and two dug outs for each team. One of the dugouts even had a scoreboard on the front. He is a pretty talented kid! We ended the day by heading to Uncle Kevin and Aunt Michelle's house for Casey's pizza and tubing!
At the beginning of summer, we had talked about making a cross country trip to South Carolina. But with Shane getting a new job and starting a week earlier than we had planned, we decided to go to St. Louis instead. Besides, I don't think we are quite ready to spend 2 whole days in the car just yet. Maybe next summer, or the summer after! We decided to take Nannie with us and boy did we have a great time! We went to a really cool Children's Museum called The Magic House. We went to the zoo, went out to several really good restaurants, and we ended our trip with a Cubs vs. Cardinals game where unfortunately the Cardinals won. We also walked to the arch but no one was too excited about going up so we just took pictures next to it.
