Vacation to Michigan

On July 19th, we headed out for a little family vacation which also included Nannie as well! We started with a 1:20 Cubs game on one of the hottest days of the year. We got there just as the game started so we went right to our seats instead of stopping for something to eat. Bryce was pretty freaked out about how high our seats were and sat on the floor because he thought he was going to fall. We only stayed in our seats for 3 innings. But we did see Rizzo hit a grand slam! When we went down to get something to eat it was super crowded and super hot. When I look over at Bryce, his face was super pale. I thought for sure he was going to pass out. We got him some water and some pizza, and he seemed to be doing better. We spent the rest of the game at Gallagher way where they had a fun splash pad and drinks for the adults! We watched the game on the big screen and left in the 8th inning to head to Michigan City, Indiana where we would stay for the night before heading to our final destination of St. Joseph, Michigan.
Blaine was so excited for his first Cubs game!

Ali was really getting into the game and kept clapping and cheering. Bryce was super scared to be sitting up so high which is why he was sitting on the floor! Blaine was just happy as can be and we were all super excited when Rizzo hit a grand slam!
Blaine and Ali had a blast in the splash pad. Bryce wouldn't play in it because he didn't have his swim suit!

After the Cubs game we headed to Michigan City, Indiana where we stayed for the night and visited the zoo the next morning. It was a super cute zoo and our favorite animals included the otters, the grizzly bears, and the lions.

There was a spot at the zoo where you could see Lake Michigan. It was so pretty!

After the zoo, we traveled the rest of the way to St. Joseph where we stayed for the next two nights.
On our way down to the splash pad Blaine suggested we stop and take a picture in this spot.

We stayed at Silver Beach Hotel which was walking distance to downtown as well as to the carousel and beach.

The big building on the right is the carousel. We had so much fun there. They had bag games set up, sidewalk chalk, a model train, and kids tables where they can color or play checkers and chess. They also sold dippin' dots ice cream that we enjoyed on our last night there.

The kids absolutely loved the beach and playing in the sand.

The kids loved playing with the cannon statue and kept yelling, "Fire in the hole!"
We ate out at lots of yummy restaurants and this one was one of our favorites. It was called "Clementines."
Having the best time walking down to the carousel on the last night in Michigan

We rode the carousel three times and sat all together in the peacock on our last ride of our trip

We all had to pose as superman outside Silver Beach Pizza.

 Blaine especially loved the cannon!
On our way home, we found a blueberry patch to stop at and pick our own berries. We had the best time and we all worked together to pick 5 pounds, although I'm pretty sure Ali ate a pound on her own before we were even done.

Selfie time! Look at all those blueberries in Ali's mouth!
